From class project to energy for the world

"One of my favourite memories from working as a high school chem lab assistant was setting up and being part of the annual 'Christmas Science Spectacular'.
One of our regular stunts was to take a large coffee can, punch a small finishing nail through the center of the bottom to make a hole. Then we taped the hole and filled the can to the top, put a slip sheet on it, and inverted it into a water filled tray.
Then we filled (displaced) the water with a tube from a hydrogen cylinder.
Next, we put the hydrogen-filled can upside down on top of a class desk and told the crowd to keep a safe distance from it. The water from the outside of the can acted as a temporary seal against the desk after we removed the slip sheet.
Then we removed the tape from the hole in the bottom and lit it. In a temporarily darkened room, you could just see the tiny blue flame at the hole where the hydrogen burned.Then we continued with the rest of the show until sometime - -usually about 20 minutes or so, something critical happened. The oxygen from the air in the room eventually seeped into the can as the hydrogen burned and eventually, the magic 2H to 1O formula manifested itself in a terrific BANG and the can shot up to the ceiling tiles. (Water synthesis does indeed release a lot of energy!)"
This is the breakthrough that could bring the change we all needed.
Imagine what I thought when I read this, Water synthesis does indeed release a lot of energy! ENERGY! and the product is WATER!
HMMMM! Energy and by-product is water! Did this science teacher know this was the breakthrough needed to be comercialized in the world at large.
Imagine all the cars in the world using this technology by harnessing that BOOM power that turns the pistons in the cylinders of a cars engine similar to how an injector or a carburetor system of a petrol PMS car would. Now imagine, hydrogen generators, cars, planes (we've seen hydrogen hot air ballons that didnt do soo well), all we have to do correctly is store it right to avoid some kind of leakage which from the past we know can be catastrophic but its the same inflammable qualities as PMS and other hydrocarbon fuels soo thats not something we should be scared of.
My brothers, sisters and friends! We are truly at the verge of seeing new energy sources with the likes of biogas and biofuels but hydrogen can equally be industrially made from air (hope that doesnt affect the composition though when we start to implement it or when it starts to react with the existing oxygen levels)
Still it holds prospects!
